This is where I show all of my fashion design/sewing work. Most designs are made into actual garments and then worn in outfit posts, like the ones shown here. The clothing items labeled “self-made” are the ones I designed, drafted, and sewed from scratch. This page is always a work-in-progress, updated as soon as I whip out something new. :) Hope you enjoy! XX, Angela

Embroidered + Cutwork Skull

Last week my family and I took a trip down to the beautiful city of Carmel to shoot. The weather was perfect and you could see the seas afar with no clouds or fog whatsoever. This post is just a sneak peak of all the photos we took there; there will be a full post next Saturday!

Today’s main focus is this embroidered skull tee I made. Believe it or not, this was 13 hours of stitching and I couldn’t be happier. There are little roses and vines surrounding the skull, making it slightly more feminine and less plain. “Webs” are in place of the eyes, nose, and mouth and the fabric is just cut out. With a bralette, I think it’s super cool and unique, unlike anything I’ve ever seen. A $3 t-shirt turned couture. :) What do you think?

Alice in White

Dress- Self-made
Headband- Urban Planet HERE
Booties- American Rag (similar)

A super simple fit-and-flare dress I made from crisp white cotton. There are princess seams down the bodice (top) front and a scoop back. It’s also fully lined with an invisible zipper in the back.

To be quite honest with you, the hardest part was keeping the fabric clean, haha. Since I do a lot of fabric cutting on the floor, white is a color I try and stay away from since it’s so easy to get it dirty. But I’m super happy with the result and how clean and sharp it looks, especially with kind of dress. For some reason I feel like Alice in Wonderland when I’m wearing it. I’m thinking it’s the combo of a headband and girly dress?

Matching Set of Daisies

Matching Top/ Bottoms- Self-made
Denim Shirt- Arizona (similar)
Shoes- Urban Outfitters HERE

The daisy print trend has been going on for some while and I finally decided to incorporate it into my wardrobe. I made this super cute matching set out of a knit fabric, making it super comfy and it only cost me $11! With only 3/4 yard of fabric and 2 hours, I had a complete outfit on my hands that I love. I do wish I made the top slightly longer, but I had a very limited amount of fabric so it is what it is. Another way to wear this matching top and bottom would be to tuck the top into the shorts, creating the look of a romper. I prefer to wear it as 2 separate pieces though because I like to more relaxed vibe. Yesterday while I was browsing the Free People site, I found THIS outfit that looks almost exactly like the one above, only at a much higher price. What a coincidence, right? :)
